History

The shipyard Wasa yachts started in the beginning of 20th century under the name of Pershagens shipyard.

The real Wasa Yachts started in the mid 70-ties. The century that was a total revolution in boat building by the introduction of the glass fibre reinforced plastic. Wasa Yachts has built around 500 boats, varying in size from 36 feet up too 53 feet, all with a great comfort in living and with strong hulls.

The yachts from Wasa are sought after by demanding sailors throughout the world. The shipyard has consequently followed a line where sailing quality has been the main guideline in the design of hull, deck and rigging. Today we have six models in our program.

Our two first designs were long and narrow boats, mainly with the purpose of sailing in the Swedish archipelago. A few years later we moved on to real ocean racers but in our own design. A design with less displacement and a graceful hull – qualities that promotes speed, easy handling and comfortable sailing. Our first two yachts in this line, that was launched in 1980 was the Wasa 360 and the Wasa 410. They both became very popular. After these two models followed several others up too the size or 53 feet.
